Single family homes and low-rise multifamily residential properties are eligible to receive financial and technical support through NYSERDA’s Low-rise Residential New Construction Program. This program covers two kinds of construction projects:
Newly Constructed Homes
By building to New York ENERGY STAR® Certified Homes standards, you construct a home that is performance-tested and proven to comply with stringent evaluations and energy analyses. New York ENERGY STAR Certification is a valued feature among home builders and buyers.
A residential gut rehabilitation is defined as a project that will re-use an existing building, vacant structure or space and may include a change of use within that space, converting the property to residential dwellings. While many residential gut rehabilitation projects may qualify as New York ENERGY STAR Certified Homes, certain projects may be eligible for the alternative New York Energy $mart designation.
