Become a New York ENERGY STAR® Certified Homes Builder

Whether you’re ready to expand your business or start a new one, partnering with NYSERDA and choosing to build New York ENERGY STAR Certified Homes can give the support you need to succeed. Follow the steps below to become a New York ENERGY STAR Certified Homes Builder.

Step 2: Download and read the Low-rise Residential New Construction Program Partnership Agreement [PDF], which outlines essential details regarding each builder's business partnership with NYSERDA.

Step 3: Download and read the Low-rise Residential New Construction Program Builder Requirements [PDF].

Step 4: Partner with a Home Energy Rater. They are here to ensure you meet program requirements on every construction project. Use our Resource Locator Map to find one near you. Once we’ve approved partnership, you will be listed as a New York ENERGY STAR Certified Homes Builder on our website.

Step 5: Partner with an HVAC contractor credentialed by an HVAC Quality Installation Training and Oversight Organization (H-QUITO). A qualified HVAC contractor may elect to be affiliated either with NYSERDA, Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA), or Advanced Energy. Find an affiliated HVAC Contractor:

Step 6: Download the Low-rise Residential New Construction Program Builder Signature Form [PDF] and complete it electronically; then print, sign, and submit the completed form to NYSERDA.
