Capital District’s Celebration of National Engineers Week
NYSERDA is exhibiting at this event.
Join us for The Capital District’s 34th Anniversary Celebration of National Engineers Week in the Capital district.
National Engineers Week was created in 1951 by the National Society of Professional Engineers and coincided with President’s Day. This is no coincidence, since George Washington, the 1st President of the United States was a land surveyor and engineer.
The Capital District E-Week’s focus is to promote the Engineering Profession. The purpose of this event is to raise public awareness of engineers’ positive contributions to quality of life, promote the importance of a technical education including a high level of math, science and technology literacy among parents, teachers and students, and motivate youth to pursue engineering and related careers to provide a diverse and vigorous engineering workforce.
In support of these goals, the E-Week event has financially supported organizations and events that have an underlying theme to promote some aspect of engineering to the younger community. One of our goals is to provide information on what engineering is about so students have the resources to decide whether pursuing engineering is for them.
Don't forget to stop by the NYSERDA booth to learn about NYSERDA, our programs and initiatives.
