Urban Horizons is an education and community support facility that includes office space, a commercial kitchen and 132 apartments. The 10-story, 194,000-square-foot building consumes 682,800 MWhr of electricity and 12,760 MMBtu of natural gas per year.

Project Description

A combined heat and power (CHP) system, consisting of a 75 kW Aegen Thermo Power TPS-75 LE reciprocating internal combustion engine-based genset, will be installed and integrated into the existing electric and domestic hot water systems.


The CHP system is expected to produce 440 MWhr of electricity and 2,900 MMBtu of thermal energy for domestic hot water per year. The CHP system is expected to have an 85% annual overall fuel utilization.
