Comfort Pulse Pilot Program - field installation of Comfort Pulse devices, monitor their performance(21721)



Opto Generic Devices (OGD) manufactures the Comfort Pulse fan controller device. NYSERDA has provided support in the past for development of this controller, with an interest in demonstrating its energy saving capabilities. A small scale pilot opportunity is available to quantify the marginal impact of the OGD device on the energy consumption of fan motors (PTAC, air handlers, etc.). A company in California (Enalasys) decided to sell the device, with a private label as the Comfort pulse, and will enable online data collection through a software monitoring tool they offer. Energy management solutions will be examined in the pilot.

Project Description

The Contractor will install the Comfort Pulse HVAC device to the HVAC systems at 15 project sites that incur both heating and cooling. Data will be collected for analysis to determine if there are measureable/considerable energy savings from the device operation.


8,000 Comfort Pulse units installed in hospitals and state buildings throughout the U.S.that improve: temperature control, indoor air quality, reduced electrical demand (kW) and reduced energy both kWH and therms.
