Research Project Summary Information

Fenner Wind Power Plant(ST6239A-1)

Canastota Windpower, LLC

AREC analyzed numerous areas for environmental appropriateness, community acceptance, wind resource, proximity to grid, accessibility, and competitive economics regarding consideration for a wind power plant, and four areas were identified for further investigation. AREC made approximately 15 visits to the areas of interest, interviewed land owners, made presentations to town boards, consulted local officials, and identified permits. There appear to be no serious barriers to developing a wind power plant in the selected area.
