Project Description

Energy efficiency and emissions (PM2.5, particle size distribution, EC, OC, PAHs, CO, CO2, NOx, SOx, and VOCs) will be measured by the Clarkson University Center for Air Resources Engineering and Sciences, working under Advanced Climate Technologies LLC. An economic analysis will be performed by Cornell University. Project technology transfer will be directed toward wood lot owners, the pellet industry, the NYSDEC Lands and Forest program, Clarkson University, Cornell University, and general public visitors to the Cayuga Nature Center.

Benefits

Benefits include reduced fossil fuel consumption and improved environmental performance of wood combustion through use of low emissions, wood-fired boilers.
