MALTA — The new administrative building planned at GlobalFoundries will offer room for450 additional administrative, engineering and research jobs tied to the Fab 8 computerchip plant, company officials said Monday.
Hudson Valley Community College is now offering academic advisement from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday evenings at its TEC-SMART educational facility.
TEC-SMART - Training and Education Center for Semiconductor Manufacturing and Alternative and Renewable Technologies - is the college’s newest satellite educational facility and is located in the Saratoga Technology + Energy Park® (STEP®) on Hermes Road in Malta.
An academic advisor will be available to advise students on course selection and scheduling for the summer or fall terms. Prospective students can choose from courses at the TEC-SMART facility, at the college’s main campus in Troy or at additional off-campus locations. Classes at TEC-SMART include those aimed at careers in the semiconductor manufacturing and clean energy fields as well as business, the humanities, and the liberal arts, including English, psychology, math and more.
