Project Manager - Process, Power and FlexTech – Albany Office (#299)

NYSERDA seeks a creative, independent and self-motivated individual to manage Industrial and Process Efficiency and Combined Heat and Power (CHP) Performance Program projects, reporting and outreach. The selected individual will have project management responsibilities in all commercial/industrial customer segments as part of NYSERDA’s commitment to energy efficiency and clean power. The ideal candidate will have industrial and CHP project and program experience.

The individual’s primary responsibilities will include some or all of the following:

  • Manage contractors and projects and work with customers to find the most cost-effective strategies to reduce energy usage and demand
  • Engage with customers to build long-term relationships that enable deeper engagement with NYSERDA programs and ability to identify and respond to customer needs
  • Resolve issues which may arise regarding assigned projects with applicants, contractors or consultants
  • Strengthen stakeholder relationships and encourage increased collaboration
  • Develop and report project status and metrics
  • Participate in the evaluation of program effectiveness
  • Develop new solicitations
  • Present information on NYSERDA programs at professional meetings, conferences and workshops
  • Participate in multi-functional teams to develop and direct new programs
  • Make recommendations for program improvements
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned

Required minimum qualifications an individual must possess include:

  • Energy-related technical knowledge of commercial, industrial, institutional sectors
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to set priorities, collect and document project requirements, successfully handle multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Superior communication and presentation skills along with a demonstrated ability to develop relationships with key stakeholder groups
  • Must be a self-starter and function well independently and in teams
  • Good computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Strong NEIS, Buildings Portal and Salesforce experience valuable
  • Must be detail oriented with a high degree of accuracy in all duties

Minimum educational requirements an individual must possess include:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, mathematics, natural or environmental science or
  • A unrelated Bachelor's degree plus three years of relevant experience as described above
